How Do I Fix an 'Insufficient Code Space' Error? When downloading your design to the Triscend FastChip CSoC device, a potential download problem exists under the following conditions. · The design targets an E502, E505, or E512 CSoC device. · The application code was compiled using Keil's evaluation software, which is limited to 2K bytes of code. · The application is downloaded into internal SRAM on the E5 CSoC device, as opposed to programming the application in external Flash or SRAM. Attempting to download a design that meets these criteria generates the following FastChip error message.
If you use the evaluation version of the Keil compiler, the resulting code image is limited to 2K bytes or less and will be located in code space starting at 0x4000 (16K), which is at an address above the internal SRAM. To avoid this error message, you must either: Download the application to an external memory device like SRAM or Flash, or Upgrade to the full (non-evaluation) version of Keil or other 8051-compatible compiler.
